Finished this Lacy Round Knit DIshcloth early this morning. This is one of my favorite patterns and so glad that I have it memorized as I was unable to find it again on the web :(
It's a very simple pattern, but it works up very pretty! I don't only use them as dishcloths, but also as doily/table mats! Thinking of making some of these up for Christmas gifts this year too!

Great news! I finished the spring semester with a 4.0 GPA and just found out I finished my summer semester classes with a 4.0 GPA!! Only 2 semesters of nursing classes left and I will have my RN! It's been such a long time coming and I am so ready for this!! I know it's going to be a lot of work, but I am ready for it!

Only 9 weeks until our youngest daughter becomes a Mommy! Can't wait for little Kennedy Rose to get here! So excited for her arrival!

Think I will go work on the sweater set that I am making for Kennedy and finish watching Syfy's Megashark vs. Kolossus....

They finally got the headstone up on mom's grave this past week. Sure did take them a long time. They did a really nice job on it though.
Can't believe it's almost May. Mother's Day is just a little over a week away, and this year it's going to be a tough one I have a feeling. This is the first Mother's Day we have to celebrate without our Mom. Been having a rough time of it all week, and I think it's just because it's that time of year, and she's not here anymore. My sisters and I are planning to get together at my dad's house Mother's Day weekend, if all goes well, so that we can all be there for one another, and with dad. We'll probably take flower out to put on mom's grave......I haven't been able to bring myself to go to the cemetery since mom's funeral. I need to do this, and maybe it will bring a little closure for me....May 16 will be 8 months mom has been gone, and it still feels like yesterday....they say time heals all wounds, how much time?

Sunday, April 5, 2015

Hard to believe it's April already. Easter Sunday was spent quietly at home with the family. Missing my momma today. Going on 7 months since she passed away, and it's still hard to believe that she's really gone....
Great news this last week, I got my acceptance letter into the Advanced Placement RN program at KCC! I take my transition class this summer and start my nursing program in the fall. I am so excited and can't wait for this journey to come to a close. I have been working so hard on this for the last almost 4 years! Feeling truly blessed in my life right now!
Working on a baby afghan for my nephew and his wife, they are expecting in August, have another in the works for my youngest daughter who is expecting the end of September. So blessed to have time to work on these things right now!

Where has the time gone?? Can't believe that it's been 6 months since I last posted on this blog. Spring is now upon us, so glad to say Goodbye to the winter weather!! Haven't had a lot of crochet or knit time lately. Too busy with school and work to sneak much else in! I really must find some time to get some baby stuff done for my nephew and his wife and for my newest grandchild due in September.....just to pack a few more hours into each day!

Once again, it's been a very long time since I posted anything on this blog! Life just seems to keep getting in the way! My momma went home to be with Jesus Sept. 16, 2014 @ 12:47pm. We buried her on Sept 19, and it all still seems like a really bad dream that I can't wake up from. They say it will get easier in time, we shall see. I am hurting so right now and hopefully that hurt will ease in time too. Haven't had much time to do any crochet or knitting. School is in full swing and I am taking a full 12 credit hours this semester. What was I thinking??? :) That I just want to get school done and over with, that's what I'm thinking!!! Fall is here, and soon it will be winter........not looking forward to snow, cold and ice just yet!

Nearly finished with my very first knit sock (using dpn's to boot)! Don't know why I always had such a problem in the past with these needles. This is coming together quite nicely..not perfect, but for a first one, really good if i do say so myself! No i think i am addicted to sock knitting....have already picked up yarn for a second pair and still have the second one of these to make! :)

Well, once again we are going through another winter storm. Temps with windchills as great as -30.  I am so ready for Winter to be done and over with! With weather just wreaks havoc with my fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis!

Spring semester has started. Whatever possessed me to take 14 credit hours this semester, I don't know. UGH!!! I am going to be beyond busy with working full time and school full time! Oh well, it's gotta get done I guess!

Have the weekend off this weekend, am planning to do nothing and just enjoy my two days off! Maybe do some crocheting and knitting and catch up on some of the programs I have dvr'd through the week! :)

I've been working on boot cuffs for my cousin's 13 year old daughter and my 16 year old daughter. These seem to be the new rage this year! Super easy to make and can be worn standing up or folded over the top of the boot. The girls like them! Top was made with red heart black light yarn and the bottom with red heart pink camo.

My mutt puppy Polly cuddling up with our big old tom cat Bubba. Polly is such a little sweetheart! But, my does she have a lot of energy!! Love her to pieces though!

Friday, August 9, 2013

Can't believe I haven't posted since March, and we are well into August now! Been a busy few months with school, work and family.  The above picture is of the beginning of a corner to corner afghan that I am making. Hoping I have enough leftovers of the colors I want to use for it to finish it..would hate to have to buy more yarn :)
Summer Semester is finally over. Get  a 2 week break from classes before fall semester starts! So glad all my classes for Fall are online! :) Maybe I will have a little more free time for my crocheting and knitting!!

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Where is the time going to??? I can't believe it's already past the middle of March! School and work continues to keep me extremely busy! Mid-terms are over and that means only about 9 weeks left of the Spring semester! Sure hoping these classes go well!!
Trying to get a little crocheting done. Working on an Octagon and squares afghan for part of my donation to our families Relay for Life teams quarter auction next month! I made a round ripple baby afghan for the auction also....
Spring Break is coming the first week of April.....looking forward to just having to go to work that week! :)

February is almost over....

Sad to say, but another month is almost gone by. I don't know where the time is going. Between working full time and going to school full time, I don't have much time left for anything else!

Working on some knit dishcloths for my kitchen right now :) Had to finally get rid of a bunch of old ones so time to restock the supply!

We are having another winter storm. Started off today with freezing rain, that has since changed to snow. They are calling for 4-7 inches of snow on top of the ice from earlier today. It is a MESS outside!!

Knit Fingerless Gloves

Here's a picture of the fingerless gloves I finished a couple of days ago! My first time knitting something like this. I really like the way that they turned out for my first attempt at them. These are going to a friend in a craft group for a fingerless glove swap. Sure hope she likes them as much as I do!

Friday, January 4, 2013

Seems I have been very lax about keeping up with my blog of late! :)  Winter is here, and I am already tired of cold and snow!

We had a very nice Christmas and nice New Year. Getting things ready for the next semester of school to start Jan. 18.  This will be my 4th semester and i am really enjoying furthering my education!

Taking some time to get some knitting done this week........i have gotten lax with it too it seems! Time to get back on track!!!
