Grannies Star Doily

I designed this doily in memory of my wonderful "Granny" Alverta Miller, the woman who taught me the wonderful art of crochet!This is my first try at deisigning a doily pattern, and I must say, I was rather pleased with the results :O)
MATERIALS:
Speed-cro-sheen (one small ball)
Size "E" crochet hook
CH 4, join with a sl st to form ring.
RND 1: Ch 3, 11 dc in ring. Join with sl st to top of beg ch 3. (12 dc)
RND 2: Ch 4. dc, ch 1 in each dc around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 4. (12 dc, 12 ch 1 sps)RND 3: Ch 4. * 2 trc in ch 1 sp. trc in nx dc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 4. (36 trc)
RND 4: Ch 1. sc in same st. * Ch 5, sk 2 sts, sc in nx st. Rep from * around to last 3 sts. Sk 2 sts, ch 2, dc in top of first sc to form the last loop. (12 ch 5 loops)
RND 5: Ch 3, 5 dc in same sp. * Ch 2 sc in nx ch 5 sp. Ch 2, 6 dc in nx ch 5 sp. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to top of first ch 3.
RND 6: * (Ch 3, sl st in nx dc) 5 times. Ch 5, (skipping nx ch 2 sp, sc, ch 2sp), sl st in nx dc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first ch loop.
RND 7: * Ch 3, sl st in nx sp. 5 dc in nx sp. sl st in nx sp, ch 3 sl st in nx sp. 5 sc in ch 5 sp. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in beg ch 3.
RND 8: * ch 5. sl st in 3rd dc of 5 dc group. Ch 5, sl st in sam st. Ch 5 sl st in nx ch 3 sp. Ch 5 sl st in 3rd sc of 5 sc group. Ch 5 sl st in xh 3 sp. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in 1st sp.
RND 9: Ch 3. dc, picot, 2 dc in same sp. * Ch 2, 3 trc, picot, 3 trc in next sp. Ch 2, 2dc, picot, 2dc in same sp. Ch 3, sc in nx sp. Ch 2, picot, ch 2, sc in nx sp. Ch 3 2 dc, picot, 2 dc in sx sp. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in top of 1st ch 3. Fasten off and weave in end.

Materials
Size "h" (5.00mm) Crochet hook
Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn (I used peaches and creme for the model)
Row 1: Ch 32, dc in 4th ch from hook. * ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next ch. Repeat from * across. (16 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3, dc in first ch space. * ch 1, dc in next ch sp. Repeat from * across. End with dc in last dc.
Rows 3-14: Repeat row 2. Do NOT finish off.
Ch1 (working along side in ends of each row, * (sc, ch 3, sc) twice in corner sp. (sc, ch 3, sc) in end of each row. Repeat from * around. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same st as joining. Dc in next st. ( 2 dc in next st, dc in next st) around. Join with sl st to beg ch 3. (36 dc).
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining. *Ch 6, sk next st, sc in next st. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in first sc. (18 ch 6 loops).
Fasten off and weave in ends.
BACK:Ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.
Rnds 1-3: Repeat rounds 1-3 of front.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st as joining. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. (2 dc in next st, dc in ea of the next 2 sts) around. Join with sl st to beg ch 3. (48 dc).
Rnd 5: Ch 1, 2 sc in same st as joining. Sc in next 3 sts. (2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts) around. Join with sl st in first sc. (60 sc).
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Joining:With wrong sides together, join with sl st in any sc of back piece, and working thru ch 6 loop of front, ch 1, sc thru both pieces. *Sc in next 2 sc of back piece only. Sc in next sc of back and next ch 6 loop tog., sc in next 3 sc of back, sc in next sc of back and next ch 6 loop tog. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in first sc.
Edging:Ch 1, sc in same st as joining. Sk next st, (2 dc, ch 2 , sc) in next st. * Sk next 2 st, (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in next st. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
