August 22, 2012

Returned home from my 6 weeks on the road with hubby.....had a really good time, but am glad to be home just the same! Trying to get things back to normal isn't as easy as it seems! :)

School will be starting up again for my on 8/30. Janie will return to school on 9/4! She had her first JV football game on 8/23 and they beat Brandywine by a landslide! She is really enjoying football!

Went to get all my books for Fall semester.......$620 later, am all ready! :)

Getting things around to head out on a road trip with the hubby early evening. Heading to Alabama to start with, then don't know where we will head from there. Looking forward to this "vacation" on the road with just hubby (even though he is working, OTR trucker that he is). Hoping to see some beautiful sights over the next 5 to 6 weeks! Thank God for my older children and their grandpa who are taking on the responsibility of our 14 yr old and 16 yr old while I go on the road!!
Hope everyone is having a great summer (even though it is so DRY). Will try to post pics of some of the beautiful things I get to see!!

Memorial Day May 28, 2012

Grandsons Aden 6 and Colin 3 waiting on the Memorial Day Parade to start!  Was sunny and only low 80's when we left for the Parade, but soon got up to the upper 90's.  The kids had a great time watching the parade and collecting candy! Afterwards, Grandma and Aunt Janie took them to the Park to play for a little while!

Spent Saturday at my granddaughter Makenzie's 8th birthday party!  Here she is sporting her new Tinkerbell cap from grandma and grandpa!
Had an enjoyable day with the family!

Finally! Here is a picture of the completed round ripple baby afghan that I started way back when!  It's actually been done for awhile now, just had to make the time to sit down and post :)

I have another one in the works in girls colors, it is working up very pretty if I do say so myself.  I will try to remember to post pics of it when it is finished too!

I will have more time for my knitting and crocheting for a couple of months, now that my busy Spring semester is over. I am only taking one online class for the Summer semester!

Friday, May 11, 2012

Well, the Spring semester is over, and I actually did pretty well! A's and B's, so I'm a happy camper! Going to be a great weekend, my grandson Colin is coming to spend the next couple of nights with us! Think it will be McDonalds play place for dinner tonight. Probably the park tomorrow, weather allowing of course!

Friday, April 20, 2012

Well, here April is over half over already! Don't know where the time is going! Only 3 weeks left in this semester of school.  Seems like it just started.  Can't wait to be done with this math (algebra) class......the other classes I don't mind so much!
It's turned colder and been raining here most of the week! Sure doesn't look or feel much like spring right now!
Have many projects in the works that I really need to try to get finished!!

Sunday, April 1, 2012

April is here already!

Here it is, April 1, 2012. Spending Spring Break visiting family in Ohio. Have been at my youngest sister's house since Wednesday night, and in the morning will be leaving to go on down to my parents house for the remainder of the week! It's so nice getting to spend time with them all again!

I love CraftGossip.com

Hard to believe that March is almost over already. Don't know where the time is going, but it sure seems to be going fast! My first semester of school will be over the first week of May....it has flown by so far! I am really enjoying it too! I have a big biology exam later today.....not sure that I am ready for it......this one covers 8 chapters, where as most of the other exams for this class were over 3-4 chapters!! Double the information to try to remember! :)
After a week of temperatures near 80, it is only 33 this morning......too darn cold!!

Another Beautiful Spring Day

It's another beautiful Spring day here in SW Michigan. The sun is shining and it's 71* outside. Not quite as warm as it has been this week, but still beautiful! School is moving right along....I am trying (and so far remaining) to stay ahead in my classes and still enjoy them! This semester will be over before you know it, that's for sure! Have had very little time to dedicate to my crocheting or knitting, so planning to do a little of each today and this weekend! :) Have to make the time, as they help keep me sane! :)

Is Spring Here??

It's a beautiful Spring day here in SW Michigan! The sun is shining brightly and it is 77 degrees outside! Sure NOT a typical March day for this part of Michigan, but I certainly won't complain about it! Been keeping busy with the school work....this semester certainly is keeping me super busy!! Can't wait for this semester to be OVER!!! ONLY 8 more weeks to go! :) Think today I will try to sneak in a little crochet time! Want to get these two round ripple baby afghans finished. Don't have much to do on either one of them, so they shouldn't take too long!

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

I've started yet another round ripple baby afghan. This one is for my sister's granddaughter Madison who was born over the weekend. I really like the colors of this one. I am using Bernat Baby Softee and an "h" hook for this one to make it work up really soft! I still have the other round ripple that I am doing for a friend of my cousins on another hook! It will be finished here real soon! We have had a couple of really nice 60* days here in SW Michigan, although it has been very windy....at least we had some sunshine! I LOVE it!

Boy am I Behind :)

My baby girl playing basketball for the Climax-Scotts 8th grade girls team (she's number 51). This is from one of her games early last week. These girls are awesome ball players........look out high school next fall!! :) I never would have thought that out of our 5 kids, my baby girl would be the sports nut :) She really does enjoy playing ball and is looking forward to softball in the spring/summer. On another note, it is our middle son's 26th Birthday today! Happy Birthday Charlie! We love you!! Hope you are having a great day, even if you do have to work on your birthday! I have managed to finish 2 article reviews and a rough draft of my cause and effect English Comp. paper in the past week. Doesn't seem like March should be nearly here already. This semester of school is going by rather fast for me! Hope everyone has a great Monday!!

Another Round Ripple

I have already started another Round Ripple Baby Afghan! Haven't gotten very far on it yet, but the good thing about this pattern, is that it works up quickly and easily!
The Round Ripple Baby Afghan I finished over the weekend for a friend who is due anytime now! I really love this pattern and have made it many, many times. I especially like how the colors turned out on this one!

My Youngest daughter Janie with the mile a minute afghan that I made for her for her 14th Birthday (12/22/11) I love this pattern and have made it several times. It's Bev's Mile A Minute Afghan Pattern. I used Red Heart Super Saver Yarn. The variegated is called Cherry Crisp. I love the way it turned out, and Janie is very happy with it! :)
This pattern was a crochet together in a craft group that I belong too! Perfect for Valentine's Day, which is just around the corner now! This pattern is a free pattern located at One Day At A Time Crochet

Thursday, January 26, 2012

Well, Winter can't decide if it wants to stay or go here in SW Michigan. For January, we are having some rather mild weather for Michigan! :) I guess I really shouldn't complain! This picture was from a storm that came thru earlier this month.....no snow left on the ground, as a matter of fact, we are getting rain and temps in the mid 40's today!
